Kemi Amola-Hill, Ph.D, LPCS, ACS, NCC
Dr. Amola-Hill is the owner of V.O.I.C.E., a Licensed Professional Counselor, a clinical Supervisor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. Her academic background includes a B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a M.A. in Counselor Education from North Carolina Central and a PH.D in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. Dr. Amola-Hill s committed to identifying and alleviating the dynamic needs of individuals experiencing crisis. She has worked collaboratively with community professionals in developing programs designed to enhance client’s intrinsic motivation for change. Her focus in counseling begins by establishing a working relationship with clients. This includes listening to the client's needs, goals, and expectations of the counseling process.
As a licensed counselor, Dr. Amola-Hill provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults to encourage healthy decision making, risk reduction, and behavior modification. Dr. Amola-Hill does not consider herself an advisor, but a catalyst for change working to facilitate positive results in the lives of clients. Dr. Amola-Hill is dedicated to affecting change in individuals and communities by providing therapeutic services and education.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Dr. Amola-Hill has worked in HIV prevention for over a decade. She has gained a wide range of expertise ranging from active community intervention to evaluation and research. Most notably, UNC-CH’s Center for AIDS Research requested Dr. Amola-Hill's expertise in conducting a variety of community based professional trainings, designed to educate local, state, and national health care providers and mental health practitioners on topics related to HIV education, prevention, and risk reduction.
Dr. Amola-Hill currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband and three sons. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
